Veteran Sports Journalist, Ayo Ogedengbe has charged Sports writers on the need to have a rich archive for reference and research purposes.

Ogedengbe made the call at a lecture to mark the 56th Anniversary of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN).

He decried the poor record keeping prevalent in the country, whereby past events and history of Sports are not well documented and cannot be traced.

The ex Presenter of World of Sports on Osrctv also encouraged Sports Writers to embrace more creativity and excellence in their reportage of Sports activities.

In his response, the Chairman of SWAN in Ondo State, Wahab Bankole appreciated the Mr Ogedengbe for the enlightenment just as he promised an improved relationship with past members of the association within and outside the state in order to build upon the current quality of Sports Reportage.

SWAN Ondo State Chapter Also Agreed To unanimously work in creating a Sports Compendium that will include all past and present sports activities and achievements of the State.
