Members of the All Progressives Congress in Akure south Local government area have lauded the peaceful conduct of the chairmanship primary election in the area.
They gave the commendation at the council Secretariat during the election which saw Mr. Gbenga Olaniyi emerged as the Chairmanship candidate.
Primary election is the process by whch stakeholders of a political party indicate their preference of the person to fly their flag in an upcoming general election.
To this end, faithful of the All Progressives Congress in Ondo state today exercised their franchise as they came out enmasse to vote their preferred chairmanship candidate ahead April Local government election in the state.
Party chieftains, including the party’s vice chairman, Abitogun Oluwarotimi, while reacting to the emergence of the chairmanship candidate, said he was impressed with the conduct of the electorate.
Other electorate who also reacted, described the process as free, fair and peaceful.
On his part, Mr Gbenga olaniyi who was voted as the party standard bearer expressed joy and promised to work assiduously with the people for dividends of Democracy.
Other political parties are also expected to conduct their Primaries in the days ahead.
