An Ondo State high court sitting in Akure has returned the founder of Sotitobire Miracle Center, Akure Prophet Alfa Babatunde and 6 other church members to the Olokuta facility of the Nigerian Correctional Services.
The suspects are facing a three count charge in the trial by the state over the disappearance of one year old Gold Kolawole in the church in November last Year.
Justice Olusegun Odusola gave the ruling at the first appearance and arraignment of the suspect before the state high court after the case ended at the magistrate court where it began.
The suspects pleaded not guilty after the three count charge were read to them while the Director of Public Prosecutions, Grace Olowoporoku asked for a short adjournment to enable her prepare the seven witnesses listed for the case.
Efforts by Mr Olusola Oke to speak on the bail applications earlier filed in respect of the suspects was met with a stiff opposition from the DPP who complained on multiplicity in the process.
Both parties later came to a resolution after which the Justice Odusola adjourned the case till the 16, 17, and 19 of March for hearing.
Mr Olusola Oke and Bola Joel-Ogundadegbe who spoke for the DPP expressed readiness for accelerated hearing of the case as promised by the judge.
