Seven Wrestlers picked up Gold Medals as Nigerian Wrestling team took the shine off other countries at the Algiers All African Wrestling Championships concluded in Algeria Yesterday.

Tokyo 2020 bound Ondo State Wrestler, Odunayo Adekuoroye clinched gold in the 57kg category.

Others who joined in the gold medal haul includes Mercy Genesis,Esther Kolawole,Busola Makanjuola,Hannah Reuben, Blessing Oborodudu, and Emmanuel John who won in the 50kg,55kg,59kg,65kg,68kg,and 74kg.

Two Time Commonwealth Champion,Aminat Adeniyi picked up the available Silver Medal in the 62kg category while Bose Samuel,Sunmisola Balogun, Blessing Onyebuchi, And Amas Daniel also did likewise in the 53kg,72kg,76kg, and 65kg.

Ekerekeme Agiomor and Soso Tamarau also picked up the bronze medal in the 76kg and 97kg categories.

Up next for the team is the Africa/Oceania Tokyo 2020 Qualifiers in Morocco next month where the team with look to get more wrestlers on the same plane with Adekuoroye to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
